Wedding Weekends

We had two weddings in April. The first was my brother, Bryce, and his wife, Bre. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 13th. It was such a wonderful sealing! I don't think I've ever seen a couple so happy! There was a luncheon at the Joseph Smith Memorial building after the wedding. Their ring ceremony and reception were that night at the Garden Place. It was beautiful!! Bre did an amazing job with planning everything! Oh and what a beautiful dress! We had such a great time with family and friends. I'm so excited for Bryce and Bre and for their life together!

Such a cute couple!
Halle loves Bre!
I love everything about this picture.
The family!

The second wedding was for one of my best friend's from O-town. Jenny and Nate were married on April 20th at the Salt Lake Temple. They had a ring ceremony and reception at Red Butte Gardens. Everything was so pretty and, oh my gosh, the food was to die for!! It was so fun seeing old friends and seeing how happy Jenny and Nate were on their wedding day! I love it when we get another set of married friends!

The Ogden girls! Best friends since elementary.

This must be the year of weddings because we have at least 4 more just this summer! Oh and a cruise in 3 days!!

Catching Up

It has been a LONG time (before Christmas) since I've posted so I'll just do a quick update:

December - Januaryish - Christmas was great! I had to work the day before and the day after so we stayed around home.  A few days after Christmas we went up to Idaho Falls to visit my parents for a few days. This year we actually made it to midnight on New Year's Eve! (we're so grown up)

Someone's happy to be awake!
Christmas aftermath

February - I've now been at my job for a year! Crazy! I sadly don't have any pictures of me in my scrubs. But just picture a really boxy white scrub top with an unflattering black scrub bottom.

On to Valentine's Day. I'm pretty sure I have the best husband! We had plans but things got messed up when I had to work that night. He improvised and set up a little surprise for me for before work. These pictures don't do it justice! Maybe next year we'll get to celebrate together.

Surprise!
All my favorite foods and he couldn't decide on which flowers...isn't he sweet?!

March - We've been updating our house for the past couple months. We're almost done with the main floor, only a backsplash and wood floors left. After seeing a picture on Pinterest, I knew we had to put stripes in the bathroom on the main floor. Pretty sure my husband isn't the biggest fan of Pinterest now. It took A LOT longer than we thought but I think it was worth it! It turned out amazing! Also, we've changed a few things around in the front room and we're so excited to get it all done!

Before

Making the lines straight was one of the hardest things I've ever done!

After
Added some shelves and TA-DA!
Dustin learned how to hide the cords...doesn't it look great!!

April - April started out with Apollo getting fixed. He has hated every minute of the "cone of shame" but has definitely milked it for all it's worth! We've had to hand feed him and even hold a cup of water while he drinks from it. Just a few more days until the cone comes off and he gets back to himself.

Look at that sad face!

We did a little something out of the ordinary a few days ago. We, along with some of Dustin's family, went on a ghost tour. It was a lot of fun and learned some stuff about Utah that we didn't learn in 4th grade history class. We went to where Ted Bundy's cabin used to stand. It was so creepy! We went to a few other places in Salt Lake but we weren't lucky enough to catch any ghosts ha ha.
Just a couple of ghost busters!
Listening to some ghost stories
Posing after our ghost hunt...watch out Ghost Adventures!

A few things coming up in the next few weeks...
My brother and his cute fiance are getting married Saturday! And then the Saturday after, one of my best friends is also getting married. And to top off all the excitement, Dustin and I are going on a cruise beginning of May. We can't wait!!

More pictures to come...

Viva Las Vegas

We had the chance to go with Dustin's family to Las Vegas for our niece's cheerleader competition. We stayed at the Excalibur and it was quite the experience. We walked the strip, ate A LOT, and watched Tyra cheer. She did a great job and her team won Nationals! I think we're good not going back to Vegas for the next 40 years or so ha ha.

Cheering Tyra on
The competition was a little too much for our niece

This was the best picture which is not a surprise

Home Sweet Home

We found our home kind of by luck. We saw an advertisement for a townhouse in Woods Cross...that's right Woods Cross and did I mention it had a bright green wall? Well neither of us had ever thought about living in Woods Cross, let alone living with a bright green wall, but we thought we'd at least go see it. We are so glad we gave it a chance! We have absolutely loved it! Although we've been in it for over a year, we've finally started to make it feel like a home. Dustin has been great at all the home renovations.
We painted over the bright green with a darker green.

I think I have a thing for green!
We had the cabinets refurnished and they look fabulous!
Definitely make the kitchen cozier!

Apollo

We don't have kids yet so for now you have to deal with posts about our dog (yeah I'm one of those people now and you can make fun of me). Named for the Greek god of music, plague, sun, medicine, light and knowledge, Apollo is our favorite little Shih Tzu. My family never really had pets (we had a cat for about a week and turtles/fish don't count) so it's been fun becoming a pet owner. We've had him since July and our lives have never been the same.

Dustin picked me up from work with this little surprise!
He was so sweet and calm...that didn't last long...
We don't spare any expense for our pup, hence the used milk carton. It's his favorite toy.
No, I don't usually dress him but I thought this was so funny!

Dustin's Birthday!

It was Dustin's birthday on the 26th of November.  He turned the big 2 9!!

I wanted to do something different this year so I planned a surprise birthday party. It was tricky coming up with reasons to get him out of the house.  I booked an hour massage and then his brother-in-law and brother took him indoor golfing (they had a blast). Everyone else came to our house and waited for them to come. I don't know how he missed the dozen of cars parked in front or my forcing him not to come home but he had no idea! (Or so he says!) It was a lot of fun and we're so grateful for those that came!! We still have cupcakes and cookies if anyone wants some...yeah, we should probably throw those away.

Waiting for the birthday boy
I promise our walls are not that bright green
We know how to party!

This isn't from that night but I like to think this is what the picture would look like.
Blowing out his candle (it's a little blurry)
Can't wait to see what we do for his 30th birthday!!
